Live Version

Jewel Carter, known by many as "JC", was born in Kansas City, KS, in 1969. He grew up with the love of music: his parents were gifted singers in their church. Through them, JC was exposed to many styles of music and many difererent musical instruments. But JC was learned to love music, and love making music, whether using drums or bass guitar.

His talent and love of music has propelled his career. He is not only an outstanding drummer and bassist, but also vocalist, writer, composer, arranger, and producer. He has toured more than 13 years with the music industry's best known artists, including Roger Troupmn, The Gap Band, and Bootsy Collins. He alsoprovided bass guitar tracks for artists such as Tupac and Shaq, along with two movie sound tracks, Phargyde's "Can't Stop the Music" from Good Burger, and "taste" from Sixth Man.

In June, 1999, JC & Live Version, were the featured act for the First Annual Celebration held in Olathe, KS, sponsored by the NAACP. In July, 1999, the single "Communication was given the Four Stars for New Artist award by Paul Loggins of Loggins Promotion/Backstage Entertainment.

JC is vigorously making progress to re-incorporate his upbringing style of funk to a new and higher level by traveling throughout California, Nevada, and the Midwest, His smooth, soulful lead vocals, showmanship, and thunderous bass playing have stamped him the new funk with pop, R&B and Hip Hop all rolled into one.
