I attended the Sundown Salute on the 4th of July and had a GREAT time.
My only suggestion is to paint designated walkways from center stage out to the fountain area, then off to the east and west. This way your security can enforce those boundries and make it easier for everyone to move around.

Why was the park on 6th and Washington chose for this celebration, when 20,000 plus people were expected to attend the Sundown Salute? The City of Junction City has taken great effort to plant new grass, water the area, etc. at considerable expense. Now it looks like "death valley"! The area has been totally trashed! Money wasted! Dogs weren't suppose to be allowed, of which there were plenty and the trash situation was terrible. It's a wonderful event! But I think next year other plans need to be considered for location. Remember, we hopefully will have people living in the old hotel just across the street from this event. I also don't think we have enough police to provide safety for the event and to cover the city in other areas. The downtown area traffic situation was terrible. You couldn't access the business district for normal reasons for several days. Thank you for the opportunity to voice my concerns.

This year's Sundown Salute has to have been the best yet! I really enjoyed how family-friendly the event was this year. I loved the Fun Zone for the kids, as well as the illusionist, elephants, tigers, kids' band, motorcycles and Water War. I felt very comfortable taking my kids to all of these shows during the day. I was not comfortable after dark, as the big bands brought in BIG crowds. Sundown Salute is a wonderful way for our city, and friends from surrounding communities, to get together for some great fun, but we seem to have outgrown Heritage Park. For everyone's safety, is there a way to move Sundown Salute to a larger location? Thanks to the committee and the sponsors for putting on another awesome event!

We were present at the recent 4th of July parade held in Junction City and were highly impressed with the semi entry which was painted with murals of 9-11. Scenes of the twin towers, the fireman carrying the baby out of the burning building, and the dynamic American Eagle have not left our minds.
Who sponsored the semi's entry? It was directly behind a group of Patriot Guard Riders...
Thank you so much for your trouble in answering our inquiry!
It was a fantastic parade and we loved every minute of it! Well done!

Thank you all so much for another wonderful Sundown Salute! My entire family enjoyed all of the attractions over several days. The celebration appears to be outgrowing Heritage Park, I have some suggestions to make better use of the available space and ideas for additional space. Are there any vacancies on the committee or the possibility of additions for the future? As an employee of a sponsor business (Intrust Bank) and a long time JC resident I would like to join the committee or at least present some ideas to it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! We had a fantastic time at the sundown salute. We drove from Salina & this was our first year to attend. What a great way to spend the day!! One suggestion though, if security could make sure the sidewalks are clear during the concerts it would REALLY make for a much more enjoyable time.
Thanks again!

Loved the Guess Who—Wow they entertian and can really sing: please please bring them back!!! Loved the Dog Show, elephants and Tigers. Loved the Motorcycle show and Cheryl Wright. Only thing did not like was REO Speedwagon: they did not sound good and they did not sound like they used to at all. Was very disappointing, Wished that the Guess Who was the Last Night Band. We all Loved them, you all did a Wonderful Job, thank all the Sponsors and Volunteers as well. God Bless Junction City, I always Stand up for our town as I think it has good Morals and Good Family Values and This Town Works so hard to Work together to Keep up with things and Remembering that the Base of the Town is Family. God Bless you all and Our Family thanks you a Millon Times over. Keep up the Good Work
Blessings
